The catalan touch

There is one ingredient in Catalan cuisine, which is loved by both locals and foreigners, and a must with tapas. Yes, we are referring to fuet, a long, thin Italian type sausage, which is only just thicker than a finger, but has a flavour that surpasses all expectations. It is made with minced pork, seasoned with garlic and pepper, and stuffed into a thin skin that differs from all other processed meats given it is white. There are actually two views when it comes to the fuet skin. Some believe it has to be eaten with its skin to maintain the essential crunchiness and others prefer to peal the skin off beforehand to taste the pure product without anything that may alter its flavour. You have to try it to decide your own view. It is an ongoing debate.
